ขณะ ซิน (เกาหยวนหยวน) นั่งทำงานอยู่ในบริษัท สายตาพลันเหลือบไปเห็น ฌอน (กู่เทียนเล่อ) ชายหนุ่มในตึกตรงกันข้ามพยายามส่งสัญญาณให้เธออ่านข้อความบนกระดาษ เธอไม่รอช้า รีบคว้ากระดาษมาเขียนโต้ตอบเขาบ้าง การสื่อสารผ่านแผ่นกระดาษยังคงดำเนินต่อไป ความสัมพันธ์แบบแปลกๆ ของพวกเขาจึงได้เริ่มต้นขึ้น

ต่อมา ซินบังเอิญพบ เควิน (อู๋เอี้ยนจู่ หรือ แดเนียล วู) ชายเร่ร่อนขี้เมาที่เข้ามาทักเธอในสวนสาธารณะ อาจด้วยความผิดหวังเสียใจจากความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างเธอกับฌอน เธอจึงรู้สึกสะเทือนใจกับความเศร้าโศกบนใบหน้าของเขาอย่าง่ายดาย เธอพูดคุยเป็นเพื่อนเขา แลกเปลี่ยนความรู้สึกซึ่งกันและกัน จนพัฒนาเป็นความใกล้ชิดในที่สุด

เมื่อเวลาผ่านไป ฌอน หนุ่มเจ้าสำราญก็ระลึกได้ว่าซินคือหญิงสาวที่เขารักและอยากอยู่ด้วยมากที่สุด เขาพยายามทำทุกวิถีทางเพื่อให้เธอคืนกลับมา ขณะที่เควินเองก็กำลังพยายามพัฒนาความสัมพันธ์กับเธอเช่นกัน เมื่อชีวิตไม่ต้องเหงาอีกต่อไป คำถามมีเพียงว่าแล้วเธอจะเลือกใคร

Yen (Gao Yuanyuan), a single lonesome woman, spots a handsome man, Sean (Louis Koo), in an office building across hers trying to catch her attention by signs written on papers. She immediately answers him back on the paper. As the two start communicate with sign paper, their quiet strange relationship begins.

Sometimes later, she comes across Kevin (Daniel Ku), a drunk hobo who tries to talk to her in a park. She is moved by the sad expression on his face and starts talking with him.

The two becomes closer and closer as she finds out that he was actually an elite architecture who losed hope in himself and ended up wandering on the streets. So she encourages him to have confidence in himself and get back on track.

Meanwhile, Sean starts realizing that she is the girl of his dream whom he wants to spend the rest of his life with. By any means, he will try to get her back although Kevin is also trying to win her heart.

Yen is no longer alone and lonely, but will she be able to find her true love?
