My 2nd marathon, I was hoping to finish without any injuries, but of course, that would've been too easy! At about 17km I started to feel a slight pain in my left knee, knowing at 22km I'll have to run up a massive hill I tried to save my left side by putting most of my weight on my right. As soon as I hit the half mark (21km), the pain was unbearable, but I just pushed thru the pain. The last 4 km was probably the hardest as, by then, both legs were in massive pain. All I could think about was, "Just keep moving."
I guess we started the first half really well as we were able to walk most of the last bit without hitting the cut-off time and also finishing at 5.36.30 earlier than my target 5.45.00
All the pain and tears from this experience are something I will wear with a badge of honor...
