During WWII,four North Africans join the French Army to fight Nazi troops. Hoping it will afford their colony political weight and recognition by the French, the men face the perils of war yet remain second-class soldiers in the eyes of their indigenous French counterparts.
This powerful film spotlights the reprehensible behavior of the French toward the North Africans while venerating a legion of fighters that history failed to remember.
