When your fear of heights tells you NO, but your passion for life says YES. Although the difficulty level of this hike is listed as "moderate" on most hiking websites, it's probably the most challenging one I've ever done so far. The 11km distance wasn't that much compared to the marathons and trail races I had done in the past, but the path was definitely tougher at certain parts. There were narrow exposed passages along cliff side edges, steep rocky slopes, and a lot of slippery mud after the rain. I felt quite scared walking along those edges where even the slightest glimpse downward would trigger my fear of heights and instantly make me imagine the worst-case scenario. Proud of myself for having made it, and the uniquely beautiful turquoise Lake Sorapis was worth all the effort.
